Things To Do in Reno-Tahoe During Summer

Summer is here in Reno-Tahoe and we’re feeling the heat, literally the almost 100 degree weather. Luckily for us we have Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake right here in our backyard that we can cool off in. Although it gets hot here in the Truckee Meadows, there are so many fun things to do in Reno-Tahoe during summer. Here are some of our favorite things to do and participate in this summer.

Food Truck Fridays
Food truck Friday’s in Idlewild Park are the perfect ending to a long week. It’s a perfect event for the whole family. There’s so many different food & drink options, individuals playing music, and it’s the perfect opportunity to get out of the house for the evening and enjoy a summer night.

Artown
July is the best month in Reno-Tahoe because it’s Artown! Artown is a month long event. It captures the imagination and brings with it a celebration of distinguished artists from around the world, across the country and those that live in our community all for the sake of cultural diversity and artistic innovation. There are over 500 events you and your family can attend! Make sure you attend at least one – there is something for everyone!

Have a Picnic Dinner at Pyramid Lake
There’s something majestic about Pyramid Lake. A beautiful blue lake out in the middle of a desert with amazing and natural pyramids – it’s beautiful and we don’t think gets enough credit. We do admit, with there not being much shade out there it gets extremely hot during the day. But in the evening, it’s perfect and you get the most beautiful sunsets. Grab some picnic food and bring a blanket and have dinner out there for the evening!
